Hi Christian,

I've now reviewed the patch and it seems reasonable to me. I see that you
already removed the LDBM description from the template, which is
excellent.

In the current version of the package, I've dropped all of:

slapd/autoconf_modules
slapd/fix_directory
slapd/slave_databases_require_updateref
slapd/migrate_ldbm_to_bdb

so these can also be dropped from the templates that you're translating
and from any translations.

The only additional change that I think we should now make is in the
description of the backend choices. HDB is now fairly stable and we
probably shouldn't be discouraging it, but it's not necessary unless the
user wants to support subtree renames. So something like:

 The BDB backend is recommended.
When using it, the database must be configured accordingly.
Please check /usr/share/doc/slapd/README.DB_CONFIG.gz for more details.
 .
HDB uses a similar storage format to BDB but adds support for subtree
renames. It is otherwise identical to BDB and supports the same
 configuration options.

I'm sorry that no one got back to you much sooner.
