Yes, I noticed that and also made a not to ask them why actually.

Sure, maybe we could even try the pre-removal package; ownCloud even ships
the SQLite MDB2 driver in lib/MDB2 just to have it as a fallback even.
(This is of course useful for the "download & extract on your
web-hosting" use case.)

Yes, we also plan to support MySQL and PostgreSQL, certainly.  However,
if a user would like to setup his own "private" cloud, I think they are
less inclined if they need to set up a whole DBMS.  At least I would be
if I hadn't owned a server with it running somewhere.  I just don't
think we should only target "big server" installations, specially given
the nature of the application.  But this is just my opinion, maybe other
members of the teams have a different one?
