Unfortunately, the push to experimental is probably not going to happen
before the end of the month.

I’ve pushed to Git last week a package of the beta1 version, and updated
it yesterday to beta2, but “it doesn’t work”…

If you want to try it anyway (bonus points if you can help narrow down
the issues, or find more), the binary packages (and dependencies
currently in NEW) are on ravel [0].

The major current issues are:
- - Not upgradeable from the owncloud 5 package (database issues, but
some parts are being addressed upstream [1], so it’s probably not a
top priority to address the Debian issue now).
- - Non working Documents apps (it works fine with the sourceless
minified JavaScript provided upstream, but I’ve not yet managed to
  rebuild it properly).
- - Broken features from the webUI: missing “Rename Share Download
History” menu on file hover, and all the rest that follows (no text
file edit, no PDF viewer, no music player…)

The last issue seems like the most important to fix IMHO, but I really
have trouble to debug it: I can’t even make it work from the stock
upstream version:

Last minute edit: well, I just tested in various environment before
sending this message, and finally got it [2], so I’ll now work on the
upgrade path, and will follow up with a proper upload to experimental if
I finally git it working.

Regards

David

P.-S.: Most of the work to package third parties is done, but I’m
worried about the status of #718585 (I may consider hijacking it, but
the idea of duplicating work is not really funny) since PHPExcel is over
4MB of embedded code. The other important one might be #727529 (i.e.
webodf, i.e. the Documents issue).
