the 8.1 > version is known to dislike clients with version < 1.7, so you have<br>
to ask Blaucload if they disabled this "feature" manually. I spoke with the<br>
developer of owncloud and they say, that there are no real technical reasons ,<br>
to disable older version, they only want you to use more recent version,<br>
because the newer ons are better.<br>

The other thing to test if you can just use the version out of backports.<br>
