If needed, I can sponsor this package. Allison, please tell us what you intent to do. If there's no volunteer to maintain parrot package, I think it's better to remove it than to leave an obsolete version in Debian. > But yes, personally my interest was > in using it for the rakudo packages (and I'm not much involved in that > anymore). Rakudo now uses moarvm and I don't plan to provide more than one rakudo for Debian. I.e. only rakudo on moarvm will be provided. The only response I got from the Parrot Developer mailing list was one message saying that the lack of response was a pretty good sign the package should be removed: http://lists.parrot.org/pipermail/parrot-dev/2016-July/007660.html That was over a month ago, so if anyone was going to object, they would have done it by now. So, my plan is to run through the removals process, first officially verifying that parrot doesn't have any reverse dependencies. If it's truly unused, I'll request removal of the package. The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the master archive and will not propagate to any mirrors until the next dinstall run at the earliest. Packages are usually not removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency problems. The release team can force a removal from testing if it is really needed, please contact them if this should be the case. We try to close bugs which have been reported against this package automatically. But please check all old bugs, if they were closed correctly or should have been re-assigned to another package. Previous version: 6.6.0-1 Current version: (not in testing) Hint: Package not in unstable The script that generates this mail tries to extract removal reasons from comments in the britney hint files. Those comments were not originally meant to be machine readable, so if the reason for removing your package seems to be nonsense, it is probably the reporting script that got confused. Please check the actual hints file before you complain about meaningless removals. -- This email is automatically generated once a day.
