Hi Anibal,

when preparing a new release of pciutils, I have taken a look at the
Debian patch for pciutils-3.0.0 and I was surprised by several
things:

(1) It still adds the pcimodules utility, although I believe it has
been agreed a long time ago that it is no longer used anywhere and
it should be removed.

(2) It patches the pci.ids file in a way that it removes most of the
subsystem entries, device subclasses and all comments including the
top comment containing the license. This seems to be a serious bug.
What is the reason for that?

(3) The package uses a completely different update-pciids script
which has never been submitted to upstream.

I know that Debian is frozen now, but (2) should definitely be handled
for Lenny. I will create a bug for that.

				Have a nice fortnight
