Initial Comment:
PPI is currently the only perl parser capable of "parsing" perl without actually having to load code or run a perl interpreter.

What is possibly the best and most accurate perl->html syntax highlighter in existance ( PPI::Format::Apache ) is dependant on this, as is the perl cross-referencing project.

Pure Perl, quite a few files, no install questions, no non-standard makefile options.

Please note that while it is stable at the moment, it is somewhat in limbo atm, with some significant parts incomplete. I would recommend this not go into stable at any time until it hits 1.0
