Same error is present on other architectures as well:
kfreebsd-amd64, mipsel, hppa, and mips.

Strangely, tests run just fine on alpha, amd64, powerpc, ia64, s390 and arm.

My vague guess about the reason is that "use of undefined variable in
socket".

Could it be that getprotobyname('tcp') returns undef?
