No objections from my side, and I hope someone who cares enough about
it will do a nice mass commit :)

I'd say: go for it.
There are a few TODO items and I guess a few rough edges in the new
dependency resolving code but I haven't seen any actual explosions,
and the results are for sure better than before.
And we could close an RC bug.
