I'm sorry that for all those years you did not got any answer. Please
note that now since April 2009 it's maintained under the Debian Perl
Group. 

Thanks for your proposed patch. Please note that Ansgar Burchardt
forwarded your patch upstream at [1]. But there is still not yet an
answer on that.
