Suggested patch attached.

This does not make huge improvement, as nona is already MP-aware, but
it is noticable. With a 5-image panorame I get

real    0m39.367s
user    0m58.640s
sys     0m1.560s

instead of

real    0m47.089s
user    1m1.008s
sys     0m1.300s

for the whole stitch process.
