I've just verified this bug still exists with (soon to be uploaded)
1.1.2-1. Oddly enough I can only see it if I use the Unity theme in
xfce4; if I have Unity gtk theme in i3, the text is a readable
white/light-gray.  

I'm currently discussing this with upstream.
