heh.  the crux of the problem was the conffile mangling from previous
releases and the transition to the new ucf management isn't working
as cleanly as it could (still getting prompts, grr).  i'm still working
on this, but haven't had as much time for it as i hoped in the past few
days.

i also haven't verified that the apache module works correctly, but
that shouldn't be too hard to see one way or the other.
