[php-maint] apache2.2 compatibility?

Hi,

I just made the mistake of upgrading from apache2.0 to apache2.2, and
now all of my php seems to have stopped working.  Googling results in
a post or two advising against upgrading apache if you want your php
to continue functioning.

I'm wondering: what's the status of php5 integration with apache2.2?
Should we expect a fix to be released in the near future, or is this
problem a particularly involved one that will take more than a few
days to resolve?

Is there any way a busy college student / network admin could assist?
