Subject: php-pear: fails to build after previous build by different user
Package: php-pear
Version: 5.2.0-8+etch10
Severity: important
Justification: fails to build from source

*** Please type your report below this line ***
If one user builds php5 from source, a /tmp/pear directory is created
with them as the owner. The next user who tries to build php5 cannot
access /tmp/pear so gets this error:

mkdir pear-build
cd cgi-build && make install-pear PHP_PEAR_PHP_BIN=/usr/bin/php
PHP_PEAR_INSTALL_DIR=/usr/share/php PHP_PEAR_SYSCONF_DIR=/etc/pear
PHP_PEAR_SIG_BIN=/usr/bin/gpg
...
could not extract the package.xml file from
"phar://install-pear-nozlib.phar/Archive_Tar-1.3.1.tar"
[PEAR] Archive_Tar: Cannot initialize
'phar://install-pear-nozlib.phar/Archive_Tar-1.3.1.tar', invalid or
missing package file
