i've checked all the orig.tar.gz's, and they matched up as expected (i.e.
were the same for all but the .dfsg ones, which were missing the dbase
dir as they should).

i've pushed it into the "official" location:

web url:

http://git.debian.org/?p=pkg-php/php.git

git urls:

ssh://git.debian.org/git/pkg-php/php.git
git://git.debian.org/pkg-php/php.git
http://git.debian.org/git/pkg-php/php.git

i've also cherry-picked into place the remaining commits in svn that weren't
in an existing tag, after setting up a git-svn clone (so the git-svn stuff
wasn't a total waste after all!).

i've also created a branch for the extension manager work that raphael has
been doing, at users/atomo64/extension-manager, and cherry picked from
his branch from svn.

and finally, i put a hook in place in the svn repo to refuse commits to
pkg-php/php5 (hopefully it should allow commits elsewhere!). the user
is greeted with an informative error message about us moving to git :)

so... i'd say we can consider this thing finally live! i guess if something
is really broken we can always fix it up manually later, hopefully it won't
require a rebase but even if it did it wouldn't be the end of the world.

in the next couple days i'll try to put some helpful information for best
practices working from git for potential contributors.
