Hi, we merged this group into pkg-privacy-maintainers, so I'm moving the thread to that list instead.

I reviewed the Tox documentation some time last year and was not comfortable of their understanding of security and privacy issues. Their security argument was pretty much "we'll bootstrap stuff via a DHT and assume that this gives us enough privacy".

Lots of programs probably have less security and privacy than Tox, but given their marketing claims, the above observations was not reassuring. Things might have changed in the meantime, but I suggest any prospective packagers to evaluate their claims critically.
