I can confirm this issue for a Lenovo T500. Sounds received by internal
microphone or microphone connected to the mic jack are distorted by a
crackling noise when playing back.

Additionally I found the following entries logged to /var/log/syslog.
May be there is a relation.

*** /var/log/syslog
Nov 20 00:07:55 t500sg pulseaudio[3850]: [pulseaudio] module-alsa-card.c: Failed to find a working profile.
Nov 20 00:07:55 t500sg pulseaudio[3850]: [pulseaudio] module.c: Failed to load module "module-alsa-card" (argument: "device_id="29" name="platform-thinkpad_acpi" card_name="alsa_card.platform-thinkpad_acpi" namereg_fail=false tsched=yes ignore_dB=no deferred_volume=yes card_properties="module-udev-detect.discovered=1""): initialization failed.
