Now that Linux 2.6.24 is in unstable, it's time to consider removing the
separate rt2x00 package. Here's a list of changes back to 2.0.10
showing what's in linux-2.6 (L) and rt2x00 (R) in unstable:
-- rt2x00: Add new USB ID to rt2500usb
[I think this should go in-tree.]
-- rt2x00: Fix tx parameter initialization
-- PATCH rt2x00: correct flag to request setting BSSID
-- rt2x00: don't write past the end when writing short descriptors on rt61
-- rt2x00: Only write TXINFO as beacon descriptor
-- rt2x00: Don't recalculate entry_idx
-- rt2x00: Fix leds dependency build
-- rt2x00: Merge config_mac,bssid,type
-- rt2x00: Make rt2x00leds_led_quality static inline
-- rt2x00: Add led trigger for quality
-- rt2x00: Enable virtual interfaces
-- rt2x00: Introduce per-interface beacon
L- rt2x00: Fix ieee80211 payload alignment
-- rt2x00: Fix queue_idx initialization
-- rt2x00: Data and desc pointer initialization
L- rt2x00: Corectly initialize rt2500usb MAC
-- rt2x00: Update copyright notice
-- rt2x00: Add per-interface structure
-- rt2x00: Driver requiring firmware should select crc algo
-- rt2x00: Enable master and adhoc mode again
-- rt2x00: Make use of MAC80211_LED_TRIGGERS
-- mac80211: add unified BSS configuration
-- rt2x00: Release rt2x00 2.0.14
-- rt2x00: Correctly initialize data and desc pointer
-- rt2x00: Move init_txring and init_rxring into rt2x00lib
-- rt2x00: Determine MY_BSS from descriptor
-- rt2x00: Cleanup write_tx_desc() arguments
-- rt2x00: Move packet filter flags
L- rt2x00: Put 802.11 data on 4 byte boundary
-- rt2x00: Move start() and stop() handlers into rt2x00lib.c
-- rt2x00: Store queue idx and entry idx in data_ring and data_entry
-- rt2x00: Only set the TBCN flag when the interface is configured to send beacons.
-- rt2x00: Always call ieee80211_stop_queue() when return NETDEV_TX_BUSY
-- rt2x00: Fix chipset debugfs file
-- mac80211: dont use interface indices in drivers
-- rt2x00: remove unused variable

-- rt2x00: Replace DRV_NAME with KBUILD_MODNAME
L- rt2x00: Allow rt61 to catch up after a missing tx report
[This fixes #456804.]
L- rt2x00: Request usb_maxpacket() once
L- rt2x00: Block adhoc & master mode

-R [PATCH] rt2x00: Remove rt2x00_clear_link
-R [PATCH] rt2x00: SW diversity should default to antenna B
-R [PATCH] rt2x00: Correctly translate mac80211 antenna setup to rt2x00
-R [PATCH] rt2x00: Use enum defines
-R [PATCH] rt2x00: Move quality statistics into seperate structure
