Sorry, I can't tell. It's a rarely used machine. This was a new 
installation, Debian sarge was running on it before - without wlan.

It uses simple WEP-encryption.

I solved the Problem by downloading and compiling the sources from the 
serialmonkey-Website on September 15th. It was the Module rt2570 which 
works with my card. The sources were rt2570-cvs-2008091509 which 
in contrast to the rt2500-sources did the job.
