Right, the initial consensus on IRC was that this didn't apply on
3.8.8 as the problematic code was introduced in 3.8.9. It now appears
that this is not the case (I was unable to do any thorough testing
of this over the weekend, regrettably; however a simple test with
mod_perl on squeeze and 3.8.8-7+squeeze3 does not demonstrate the
problem for me).

The original submitter of this bug had, I believed, encountered this
problem before it appeared in Debian, as he had, I believe, manually
applied https://github.com/bestpractical/rt/commit/b7a5a53 - I am
therefore updating the 'found' version number in an attempt to make
things a bit less confusing.
