  In short: the build process is fragile, so I'd better do the switch
myself, as there are many traps for the unwary (including weird FTBS on
hppa, soname tweaks, unusual installation path tweaks...).

  I'll eventually look into it. For others who want to help, please
tackle other packages before this one.
