The package libserialport-ruby[1] was already created by the team and
uploaded during the freeze of Etch, so it didn't make that release.
I am afraid that because of this, it means that it cannot be added to
the current release.  However, it will be available in Lenny, our next
release.
You are also welcome to backport our package for Etch and upload
it to backports.org[2].
