To be honest as well, first link in google when you type in ruby EE.
So maybe it's time to use simpler Google searches? ;-)

It is up to me where I want to install my own software and /opt is as
good as /usr/local, but more transparent.
I won't go into discussion on this because I can see no sense.
As I said before, I will provide Jeremy with the patches for rubyEE.
