You definitely have a recursion problem in your name service configuration
(bug #459972); you should configure the 'name resolve order' option in your
smb.conf to not include 'hosts', otherwise all wins lookups will be broken
due to this bug anyway.

Beyond that, this appears to be a duplicate of bug #509101.  Could you
please confirm that 2:3.2.5-2 is the version of winbind that you have
installed (this is what Josselin marked, but I think he's just guessing
based on the current version in testing since nothing in your bug report
tells this), and then also check that the winbind 3.2.6 package referenced
from http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=509101#10 also fixes
the problem for you?

Christian, since we seem to keep shipping nss_wins in our releases even
though I think it implements a bad idea :), we should see if we can get this
bug fixed for lenny as well.
