(discussed at DebConf IRL today, please correct me if I got any of the
details wrong)

This symbol is indeed not used for critical functionality in Samba. The only
place where it is used is in the "net lookup kdc" code, which will
look up a KDC for a user-specified realm. 

This functionality is not specific to Samba and it seems better off provided by 
the Kerberos implementations where all Kerberos users can benefit from it. That 
would also avoid the need for Samba to use this private Kerberos symbol.

Sam has contacted upstream MIT Kerberos about providing this functionality.

I'm downgrading this bug to normal since I don't think "net lookup kdc" is a key
Samba feature in any way.
