[Pkg-samba-maint] Bug#517760: samba: force group ceased to work in 3.3.0

Package: samba
Version: 2:3.3.0-4
Severity: normal

After upgrade, the share option: force group = +group
seems to no longer have any effect on the final group assignment.

E.g.

Samba 3.2.5 (or so I believe)

  basia-pc (192.168.0.133) connect to service pub initially as user basia (uid=502, gid=100) (pid 16292)
[2009/02/17 22:00:49,  1] smbd/service.c:close_cnum(1405)

Samba 3.3.0:

  basia-pc (192.168.0.133) connect to service pub initially as user basia (uid=502, gid=1006) (pid 2372)
[2009/02/19 22:26:44,  1] smbd/service.c:make_connection_snum(1103)

Where user basia:

uid=502(basia) gid=1006(basia) groups=1006(basia), ..., 100(users), ..., 1010(samba)

And share pub configuration:

[pub]
	comment = Pub
	path = /pub
	valid users = @samba
	force group = +users
	read only = No
	create mask = 0660
	directory mask = 0770
	hide unreadable = Yes

Bye
