There is about zero chances that this problem is investigated by
Debian packagers. It would better be checked with upstream.

What you can do if you want to see it progress is trying to reproduce
it with a more recent version of samba (for instance one from
backports.org).

Also check the printer settings on the client side. Many printer
drivers use extended features that are only working properly when the
server is running Windows. Also try fiddling up with settings related
to the server "talking" to the client. By experience, some things may
change in that matter.
