Again, when samba (not samba-common) is installed, I think it's
important enough to avoid using a default workgroup setting.

OTOH, this is exactly what Windows does..:-)

But I agree that the question has nothing to do when only something
else using samba-common (such as smbclient) is used.

So either we move the question from samba-common to samba (and add
some complexity quirks for the transition)...or we lower the priority
of the question....or even both of these..:-)
