Given that one (even two) of us are part of upstream, yeah we heard
about that..:-)

More seriously, we still have this plan of merging samba 3 and 4 in
Debian(experimental until wheezy is released).....once done, I think I
could myself work on new upstream version just like I'mdoing for samba
3 (these days with the help of Ivo de Decker)....and thus be more
reactive  wrt new upstream releases, also for samba 4, as we were in
the past for samba 3.
