Package: samba-libs
Version: 2:4.2.10+dfsg-0+deb8u2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?
The samba-libs package renders greyhole (redundant storage pooling using Samba) nonfunctional.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

The readelf command shows a dependency of the greyhole VFS module upon libsamba-debug-samba4.so, which is not provided by the samba-libs package. By comparison, it is provided in the stretch (testing) package, and in corresponding RPMs for other linux distros.
