    </span><span class="st">I had the same issue, which is probably

      rooted in runnig samba as an ad dc and a file server at the same

      time.<br>

      The result was that smbd and nmbd did not start any more while

      samba-ad-dc and samba were inactive.<br>

      Setting <br>

      <br>

      server role check:inhibit=yes<br>

      <br>

      in the smb.conf [global] section fixed iit.<br>
