Thanks a lot for the patch. I'll try to apply and upload soon.

If you want to help me maintaining this package, let me know - it's in
the pkg-scicomp svn repository, I think you, as a DD, can edit it (or
ask Christophe to add you in). I am not using this package much these
days, I use our own python+C solver:

So any help is welcomed. Feel free to fix/upload libmesh anytime you
want without waiting for me.
