Package: libgmp3c2
Version: 2:4.2.4+dfsg-8
Severity: grave
-----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE-----
Hash: SHA1
After upgrading libgmp3c2 to version 2:4.2.4+dfsg-8, compiling any C file
with gcc-4.3 or gcc-4.4 fails with
...
<file name>:<number of last line>: internal compiler error: Illegal instruction
...
Downgrading libgmp3c2 to 2:4.2.4+dfsg-2 fixes this with the rest of the
system left at current sid.
I haven't been able to catch the SIGILL in gdb and investigate further, but
I suspect the illegal instruction could be from the ppc64 instruction set,
as this problem doesn't seem to happen on a ppc64 machine.
