Yes. epoch really break versioned dependencies hardly, it's usually better
to fudge with the version temporarily.

epochs are useful when upstream for example used "date based versioning"
(20161025) for a while and then released "1.0". Even when we upload a
newer version by mistake we often used tricks like "1.3+really1.2". This
sorts itself when 1.3.1 or 1.4 gets out.

It's not to each new release, it's only necessary right now. When 1.2.1 or
1.3 is out, the new version will sort higher without the need for any
extra ".0".
