As I said I do intend once the pkg is complete to import the dsc back
into git, but for now git was getting in my way.  I'm hoping after this
release to get to a point where all patches are stored as git commits
instead of as quilt patches, which should make merges trivial.

I'v had no trouble using git for qemu (among others, but qemu is the
most ... interesting up to now) merges, but in this case it was
really slowing me down.

For now I'm waiting for the vietnamese translations and a patch from
Dimitri.  If those don't come by this weekend I'll ignore the translations
and write a new patch myself.

Yes I intend to import those as separate commits into git.
