Package: subversion
Version: 1.2.3dfsg1-2
Severity: normal

Twice when using svn to rename directories that contained files the
initial commit failed, claiming that the old directory was out of date.
I ran 'svn update' and nothing changed, but the commit then worked. I
ignored it the first time, but then it happened again immediately
thereafter.

Here is the rought test case:

% svn mv one two
# where one is a directory containing files that were checked in
% svn commit
...
svn: Commit failed (details follow):
svn: Item '/one' is out of date
% svn up
At revision 56.
% svn commit
...
Transmitting file data .......
Committed revision 57.
