[Pkg-sympa-devel] Bug#630734: Sympa: Upgrade from lenny doesn't handle the password encryption modification

Package: sympa
Version: 6.0.1+dfsg-4
Severity: important

Hi,

After upgrading sympa from lenny to squeeze. It was not possible to log
in to sympa because the password encryption/hash scheme has been changed
from crypt(?) to md5. It was a pain to know that the administrator needs
to manually execute:

    "sympa.pl -md5_encode_password ;"

This information is not in a README.Debian file neither given during the
upgrade process. Perhaps it would be good idea to put a debconf question
asking for the execution of this command or a message to warn the
administrator.

Regards,
Philippe Le Brouster.
