Yes, it is systematic on my box.

Yes.

I have however just noticed that for some reason there is no problem when
booting with the 3.14 kernel, I only have the issue with the 3.16 kernel
(3.16-2-amd64 from Debian). Perhaps also worth noting is that this system is
not connected to any network at boot (neither wired nor wireless), and thus the
above is done without any network access at all.
