I am *not* at all against this patch.  But should we not be raising hell
with the Debian kernel team to fix the &#@$&@#$ kernel to do SATA and SCSI
device shutdown properly, also?

Halt needing to power down disks is just a workaround for a broken kernel,
really.  It won't work always, it is easy to see a lot of border conditions
on this patch.  The first one is the extremely stupid idea that there might
be only sda..sdh in a system, and the other is that the devices are named
/dev/sd* in the first place (not true, depends on local admin config for
udev).

I have a patch from SuSE for kernel SATA device powerdown, that should be
easy for the kernel people to extend for the entire SCSI chain, if they want
to.

What do you guys think?
