[Pkg-sysvinit-devel] Bug#620788: mountnfs: rpcbind not started before nfs-common

Package: initscripts
Version: 2.88dsf-13.1
Severity: important

In do_start() we have:

        #
        # Initialize nfs-common (which starts rpc.statd, rpc.gssd
        # and/or rpc.idmapd, and loads the right kernel modules if
        # applicable) if we use Kerberos and/or NFSv4 mounts.
        #
        if [ "$start_nfs" = yes ] && [ -x /etc/init.d/portmap ] && [ -x /etc/init.d/nfs-common ]
        then
                /etc/init.d/portmap start
                /etc/init.d/nfs-common start
        fi

But rpcbind, an alternative portmap implementation, won't get started
prior to nfs-common, and thus nfs mounts will fail. This could be
fixed with:

        if [ "$start_nfs" = yes ] && [ -x /etc/init.d/nfs-common ]
        then
            if [ -x /etc/init.d/portmap ]
            then
                /etc/init.d/portmap start
                /etc/init.d/nfs-common start
            elif [ -x /etc/init.d/rpcbind ]
            then
                /etc/init.d/rpcbind start
                /etc/init.d/nfs-common start
            fi
        fi
