[Pkg-tcltk-devel] some early feedback

Okay, well...inteeresting comments. I think our top priority should
be to decide what needs to be done before the etch release, and do it.
I'll post a separate message soon with _my_ ideas of what needs to be
done, what doesn't (short-term), and why. These will not be cast in
stone; they'll just be ideas for discussion.

Of course, we can discuss longer term plans at the same time -- maybe
even start to work towards some -- but they're not going to _my_ top
priority.

Igor: I'm going to contact you off-list about uploads.

Colin: it sounds like you've been working on some of the same stuff as
Igor, which is great. We just need to coordinate your efforts. :)
Some of your plans seem a bit too long-term for me to want to discuss
them just yet, but you obviously have some good ideas. Although I do
have some reservations about tracking HEAD directly (especially before
etch releases). But we can discuss that further, later. I certainly
hope you'll continue to help, and will gladly add you to the project
team. Just email me your Alioth account name.

James: I'm not completely sure about tclx. I'd hoped the maintainer
would join the team, but so far he has not. But he is subscribed to
this list. (Hi, dz!:) Tclx is certainly on-topic on this list in any
case. My understanding is that upstream is deprecating all shells
other than tclsh and wish, so you may want to keep that in mind. But
yes, we need to make sure that tcl and tclx work together properly.
And this is definitely something to try to accomplish before etch
releases. Thanks for raising the issue.
