[Pkg-tcltk-devel] Bug#641185: tk8.5: Various Tk-based programs only display menu text in upper-left corner of screen

Package: tk8.5
Version: 8.5.10-1
Severity: important

Various Tk-based programs only display menu text in the top-left of the
screen. This is quite obvious with a tear-away menu, where it's easy to
move it in or out of the zone where text is displayed. It does not seem
to depend on the general font chosen and programs written using other
toolkits seem to work fine.

I first spotted the issue in exmh and considered reporting it against
that package, but some quick experimentation shows tha it pops up in
at least tkmib and the "widget" demo provided with perl-tk.
