It looks like alternatives could be a good tool to solve this conflict.
The new 'try' thing is backported 'try' command from Tcl 8.6, so,
probably, on install tcllib can check if Tcl 8.6 is the default, and
switch the alternative to Tcl's built-in command, or switch it to the
compatibility thing otherwise.
