AFAICT this is still true, that's what humfs is trying to fix. I'd say
this could stay open.

I tried to deal with all of those bugs here:

And already closed close-able bugs, all the others probably need some
more attention and some chatting with submitter(s) if they are still
reachable. Anyway bugs don't bite and on the user-mode-linux side I'd
like to see amd64 binaries appear asap.

My plan is to enable amd64 builds with 2.6.18 and I'm already working on
it.
