Hello Mark,

please, provide the filenames of the scripts you created in
if-pre-up.d and if-post-down.d.

run-parts runs only scripts with appropriate naming:

According to man run-parts:
... the names must consist entirely of upper and lower case letters,
digits, underscores, and hyphens.

e.g.
test -- will be excuted
test.sh -- will not be executed
