Package: devicekit-disks
Version: 009-3
Severity: normal

Hi,

as already reported in #564854, I've got a "Western Digital My Passport Essential 500GB Black" external harddisk drive, that includes a separate fake CD-ROM partition to hold the proprietary "WD SmartWare Software". When I plug in the device, dmesg reports that both a new CD-ROM drive and a new harddisk have been found and registered as /dev/sr1 and /dev/sdb1 respectively:

However, only the harddisk part of the device (i.e. /dev/sdb1) is automatically mounted; the CD-ROM part doesn't even show up in Nautilus' computer:/// view. It does show up in Palimsest though, so I am asking why the partition isn't automatically mounted (as e.g. in Windows XP) as well.

Cheers,
Fabian

PS: Feel free to ask if you need additional information, some can even be found in my initial bug report in #564854.
