Just a small update: I have upgraded my laptop from Ubuntu 10.04 to Ubuntu 12.04: Avahi still works correctly after the update and I can resolve all .local addresses with it. However, my Debian (Testing) desktop still loses the .local addresses a few minutes after starting to run avahi-daemon. -- Geoff
