Right, I can understand that I'm in some sort of weird state here, but
it still seems strange to me that

• NetworkManager claims to read /e/n/i
• /e/n/i sets a static IP setup for eth0
• NetworkManager starts dhclient for eth0, despite it having a static IP

Anyways, I will assume I'm just missing something obvious here at this
point and try to adopt a more modern setup.  Thanks for the help!
