Package: network-manager-gnome
Version: 1.4.4-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Steps to reproduce:
        - set up a wifi connection with auto-activation in gnome settings
        - set up a vpn connection (only tested with openconnect and openvpn
connections) in gnome settings
        - in nm-connection-editor, edit the wifi connection to connect
automatically to the vpn connection when using the wifi connection
        - enable wifi OR turn on the computer with wifi enabled OR get out of
sleep with wifi enabled

Expected behaviour:
connection to the wifi network and activation of the vpn

Actual behaviour:
        - "Activation of connection failed" notification in gnome
        - this in /var/log/syslog :

This bug doesnt occur if nm-applet is running. According to nm-applet manpage,
it is normally started at login by the desktop session manager. However, on my
computer with automatic login at boot, it isn't the case, even after logging
out and then logging in.

This bug doesn't occur if I select the network in gnome settings or in the
settings menu at the top-right corner in gnome.
